TrueCar Used Cars and New Cars App Reviews

I was contacted by a dealership that received my inquiry after I had "locked in" savings on a particular vehicle. The guy told me it was going to be $2000 more than MSRP instead of the $200 below MSRP that Truecar had supposedly locked in for me. The savings promised in the app mean absolutely nothing. And then I got lots of calls from other dealerships who didnt have the exact car I wanted but were wondering if I might be interested in something else. Basically felt like I was tricked into giving out my contact info to telemarketers. I think dealerships look at their relationship with Truecar as simply another way of getting their name out, nothing more.

Great app. Helped us save money on our recent purchase. Really convenient to have on my phone!

Dont listen to nay sayers their either dont understand how to use the app or they are the type that cant be pleased. Helps to negotiate better offer with car dealers.

Dont use true car unless you give them false information!!! The dealerships will spam, call you non stop. I have told them we already bought a car and they keep calling. They are now on the block list! They use your information and send it to at least 10 other dealerships. You will regret it!

Was working great, BUT now it constantly crashes on launch every time on my iPhone 6S+

Dealerships will spam you and hassle you for when you are looking to buy. Dang all I want is pricing. If you do talk with dealer they wont honor the price. If the do honor he price they add on all the stuff that was taken off and say well we have to add that since we are giving you this price. No you dont thats against true car pricing. Terrible App for pricing. Check out edmunds

App works the way it is supposed to. Very convenient to have while at a dealership to check on real prices vs sticker. Dealers WILL contact you when you request pricing, but for those actually looking to buy a car its not a bad thing. You can leverage them against one another if needed.

This is a great tool to use when researching a car purchase. Sadly some dealers are hesitant to honor the quote they promote. I did find a great Honda dealer who said they would honor the price recommended by the app.

The first car the dealer said he couldnt do more than $500 so I said ok...well it says here that u will sell me this Toureg $6,100 below sticker so that what I paid for a $52,000 SUV for $46,000. Same with the next 3 cars I bought using this. It takes the hassle out of every buy and it save u a ton of money. If you dont use this app you deserve what you get. Fact not fiction. Its the best feeling in the world when I get the upper hand.

Only 3-4 stars because requires phone number to get dealer prices I wanted the app to go to dealers ready to talk

This was a fair app before the latest update. Now, you must input your personal information to even get past the home screen. This in turn means you will be solicited nonstop. The exact opposite of why I got this app!

To use this app, you have to provide your personal contact information (lots of it) and you will get CONSTANT phone calls. You even have to provide your home address and dont be surprised if someone from a local dealership shows up at your front door, ringing your bell.

TrueCar is legit. I love being able to not only look at car specs but also look at the types of packages and different things that you can add to the car. All around its an awesome app!

Nothing makes the app stand out from the rest. I am looking for an app that lets me search by features. This isnt it. Its useful for pricing something when you already know what you want.

The app is alright in terms of showing you pricing, but once you build a car and search for inventory you will get harassed by dealers non-stop. I get about 5 calls a day, and 5-10 emails a day for a week or so after I check out different cars on there. It has killed the car buying process for me and I have elected to stay with my current vehicle, TruCar needs to take into account that dealers are vultures.

Nice job...on putting out an app that wont even open. Waste of my time!

True Car will not show dealer pricing anymore without you having to give your info out to area dealers. TC: I WANT BE ABLE TO RESEARCH PRICING AND OPTIONS ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES BEFORE I GET HARASSED BY DEALERSHIPS.
